sharkQuiz® is an online quiz website created by a small group of educators who enjoy interactive learning and quiz-based activities.

The idea for the site started at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), Faculty of Education, University of Toronto, where we often discussed how quizzes can help children stay curious and engaged while learning.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, we used to organize simple quiz activities for children in informal settings. When many families began spending more time at home, we decided to create an online version so kids could continue enjoying quizzes in an easy and accessible way.

That idea later became sharkQuiz®.

What sharkQuiz® Offers

sharkQuiz® provides a collection of online quizzes designed to be simple, fun, and suitable for younger audiences. Our quizzes cover a variety of light educational topics and general knowledge areas.

The goal of the site is to provide:

Why We Chose the Name sharkQuiz®

The name sharkQuiz® was inspired by the unique nature of sharks. Sharks continuously replace their teeth throughout their lives, which represents the idea of constant renewal.

We use this idea as a simple metaphor for learning — knowledge can continue to grow, expand, and improve over time.

The concept behind sharkQuiz® is to encourage children to keep exploring new ideas and discovering different areas of knowledge.
